Bolognese  and Citrus

This first garment was inspired by the feelings, colors and flavors of pasta. The associations one makes with certain colors can sometime affect appetite. That is the goal in these two pieces. The deep wine purple thick felt strips mixed with the redness of raw tomatoes interwoven like a pile of tagliatelle  heavy with a meat sauce makes you yearn for a plate of an equivalently saturated food. The second garment was based on the feeling and affect that citrus has on my palette. It includes the texture of the rind - fake yellow leather, and the pith - bitter fluffiness. The top was to resemble the acidic lime notes from under-ripe citrus.

The pieces were made with aesthetics in mind while also considering what would happen if a waiter or waitress would ask your order wearing something with similar colors and textures. The question is: would these outfits affect your order?
